Lebanon, Oregon
Located on US Highway 20 (East of Albany) is the town of Lebanon.
This former lumber town has transformed into a community that provides educational opportunities in the medical field through Western University and Linn-Benton Community College.
Lebanon also provides employment through major industries including Entek International, Laticrete International, and Lowes Distribution Center.
The community hosts a Strawberry Festival during the first weekend of June. While strawberries are no longer grown or produced in the community, the community does provide a very large strawberry shortcake every year using a trailer to contain it.
Most of the agriculture, in this area, is in the pruduction of grass seed (as most of this part of the Willamette Valley provides).
The first Walmart store, in the state of Oregon, was built off of the Santiam Highway and has relocated to what used to the Motor-Vu Drive In where the current Supercenter store stands today.
It is a town know for wild turkeys roaming around it's streets. Many of the photos displayed reflect artwork done by local businesses as a salute to the flock.
The community has a major hospital that also provides an event center with a Best Western Premier Hotel for conferences and special events.
One of the newest veteran care facilities has been constructed as well taking care of those who served our country.
