Manito Park

Located on the South Hill of Spokane, Manito Park is a 90 acre botanical garden.

Many times, when traveling from the states of Washington and Oregon, Eastern Washington shows it's desert landscape. This park can make you forget all about that.

Six gardens are featured, covering aspecific variety of plants, including a major greenhouse (known as the Gaiser Conservatory) that features plants that don't fit the climate of the Inland Empire.

Created in 1904, the park did function as a zoo until 1932. In 1940, the park was tranformed into the garden.

The park was listed in the National Register of Historical Places in 2015.

This slide show covers Duncan Garden and Gaiser Conservatory.

Hopefully, other portions of the park will be covered on a future visit.
