Looff Carrousel

(Carrousel and carousel will be used as provided from the websites used)

Looff Carrousel is located in Riverfront Park

This carousel was built in 1909 by Charles Look as a wedding present for his daughter.

The carousel operated at Natatorium Park until the park closed in 1967 and placed into storage.

As Expo 74 was being planned, there was a discussion to include the carousel into the fair but concerns of damage to the ride with the crowds, it was decided to put the ride into operation after the fair was over using the building used as the Bavarian Beer Garden during the fair.

Over time, the building required a rebuild as the elements were taking it's toll on the ride.

After a bond measure was passed in 2014, The building was rebuilt with windows as well as provide a gift shop and an event center.

While the carousel was under construction in Albany Oregon, The Looff Carrousel was providing support in the project in the Willamette Valley.

Photos of the Albany Carousel construction will be added on a future page in the Oregon section.

Details about the Looff Carrousel available on the website:

The ride is open daily from 6am until midnight.

The ride does have a machine to gather plastic rings. Once you receive them, it is recommended to give them back.

There are photos of the rings on this page but they were sent back to the facility once this page was completed.
